protection of electrical boxes

the INTUMESCENT SHEET FOR ELECTRICAL BOX PROTECTION “GB-PRF” consists of an intumescent element whose specific function is to maintain the fire resistance rating of the wall when discontinuities such as standard switch boxes are introduced. In the event of fire, the thermal action causes the material to expand to protect boxes for electrical installations. In the event of fire, recessed electrical boxes are points at risk of fire passage and therefore of circumvention of the fire compartmentation; in fact, they are recessed into the walls and at that point the thickness interposed to the fire is no longer the one that guarantees the fire classification, so it becomes necessary to protect them. The INTUMESCENT SHEET “GB-PRF” placed to protect the box makes it possible, through its insulating power, to protect that point with an EI 120 classification.
