T-REX pre-formed shells for the fire protection of steel tie rods (up to R 180) and pipework (I 120), certified to EN 13381-10.
CUPEL is Global Building's range of T-REX pre-formed shells and half-shells for the passive fire protection of steel tie rods and pipework: cylindrical geometries that are difficult to protect with flat boards or paints.
The T-REX / C and T-REX / S shells protect steel tie rods with fire resistance of up to R 180: in the event of fire they prevent the steel temperature from rising above the critical threshold of 350 °C set by test standard EN 1363-1:2012. They come in two categories according to the protective material: T-REX / C in refractory ceramic fibres and T-REX / S based on calcium silicate.
The T-REX / TUBE shells protect combustible and non-combustible pipes with an I 120 classification, keeping the internal temperature below 140 °C. Particularly lightweight thanks to their specific refractory material, they are suitable for metal gas or water pipes, pipes in plastic or flammable materials and pipes housing electrical conduits.
Installation is quick and easy, even on members already in place: simply fit the two protective half-shells together and hold them in position by wrapping them with the galvanised sheet-metal protective jacket. All CUPEL systems come with a classification report, technical data sheet, installation manual and specification clause, with the support of the Global Building technical department.
