protection of steel pipes with diameter up to 186 mm
The “T-REX / TUBE” pre-formed shells are elements made of a blend of refractory ceramic fibres, suitable for the fire protection of metal pipes carrying gas, water and electrical cables. They consist of a refractory ceramic fibre core with a thickness of 50 mm and a 0,25 mm thick galvanised steel sheet facing, 1000 mm long. The insulation and the galvanised steel sheet facing are supplied separately in order to facilitate installation operations. The “T-REX / TUBE” pre-formed shells prevent the temperature inside the shells from rising, keeping it below 140°C, and can therefore be applied in any situation where it is necessary to protect metal or plastic pipes, electrical cables or any other flammable material. Tests were carried out on steel pipes with a diameter of 25 mm and of 90 mm so as to simulate the worst-case conditions of temperature rise and guarantee an insulation level below 140°C after 120 minutes, with an extension to larger diameters up to 186 mm.
