- Characteristics
- Single-component intumescent fire-protection paint in water dispersion, specifically for application on steel structures up to R90 located in indoor or semi-exposed outdoor environments. F62 PAINT S - PLUS offers faster solutions, thanks to the possibility of applying up to 1000 microns per single coat, and healthier ones, having one of the lowest VOC contents on the market. The product can be applied in a single coat in most cases.

- Substrate preparation
- The substrate must be suitably prepared in accordance with the instructions given in the Classification Reports. It is compatible with the main anti-corrosion primers (epoxy/epoxy-polyamide zinc phosphate/alkyd). - On new surfaces with mill scale, prior sandblasting or mechanical brushing is required, followed by the F62 PRIMER S anti-corrosion treatment. - On new surfaces already treated with an anti-corrosion primer, remove any traces of oil/grease or foreign material present. - On surfaces that do not require anti-corrosion protection (galvanised structures), the specific F62 PRIMER Z primer can be used.
- Dilution
- Ready-to-use product; if necessary, dilute with 0 - 5% water.
- Application
- Mix the contents of the container to obtain a homogeneous paste. Protect the structure from strong winds and high temperatures during application. Apply by brush, roller or spray. In the latter case use an Airless pump with Tips from 19 to 21; Pressure 2500 ÷ 3000 psi (175-210 kg/cm2); hose diameter 10 mm (3/8"), 6 mm (1/4") internal diameter. Remove the filter from the spraying machine. After use, clean tools with water; it is good practice to rinse tools periodically during the day.
- Consumption
- 1 kg/m2 equal to 500 micron In the case of Airless application, allow for 20% waste.
- Application temperature
- Apply at temperatures between + 5°C and + 40°C and relative humidity below 80%. The surface temperature of the steel must be at least 3°C above the dew point.
- Drying
- With temperatures above 20°C and relative humidity below 70%, drying takes place rapidly, allowing two coats to be applied on the same day.
- Finish
- F62 PAINT S - PLUS has a uniform finish and high durability. It therefore requires no further decorative finishes. For aesthetic reasons it can be overpainted with F62 FINISH S, available in various colours, or with acrylic or chlorinated rubber paints. For applications in aggressive industrial environments, or in the presence of high ambient humidity, and to increase its surface resistance characteristics (impact - abrasion), overcoating with two-component polyurethane products is recommended. - Maintenance
- Periodically check the integrity of the paint film. In the event of damage, clean back to the substrate and restore the protective system in the affected area.
- Packaging and storage
- 25 kg pails. The product is stable for 9 months if stored in its original containers at a temperature between +5°C and +35°C. Protect from frost. Non-flammable product.
- Warnings
- F62 PAINT S - PLUS is classified as a Non-Hazardous Product according to Directive 67/548 EEC and subsequent amendments. It is advisable to follow the precautions required for the use of products such as water-based paints or wall plastics (work clothes, gloves, etc.). Do not breathe the mist produced by spraying.
