the FIRE PILLOWS “GB-S” are fire pillows for closing electrical cable penetrations. Electrical cable penetrations do in fact often pose the problem of having to allow quick and easy operations for adding, replacing and removing cables. The FIRE PILLOWS “GB-S” are made of sturdy non-combustible glass fibre fabric, treated with a special polyurethane product, wrapping a perfectly sealed envelope containing granular intumescent material, heat-insulating fillers and materials with gradual water release. They work both physically, thanks to the excellent insulating power of the materials they contain, and chemically thanks to the intumescent additives which, in the event of fire, increase their volume, entirely closing the opening. The FIRE PILLOWS “GB-S” ensure excellent fire compartmentation even when, due to particular geometries of the through-hole, complete sealing with inert material is not possible; in fact, they expand slightly, completely closing any openings left open. A further problem is represented by the small passages that can form during a fire due to the combustion of the cables and their consequent reduction in volume; thanks to their slight expansion, the FIRE PILLOWS “GB-S” are able to compensate for this further problem too, thus guaranteeing constant and perfect fire compartmentation.
