“GB-P” PANELS, WRAP “GB-T” and PILLOWS “GB-S”
Application
Floor Penetrations · Cable Trays And Corrug. Conduits With Elec. Cables

Supply and installation of protection for penetrations of steel cable trays and corrugated conduits containing electrical cables with certified EI 120 fire resistance in floor slabs, consisting of: “GB-P” PANELS, semi-rigid mineral fibre (density 150 kg/mc), 60 mm thick, treated on both sides with a layer of fire-protection coating; INTUMESCENT FIRE PILLOWS GB-S, made of sturdy non-combustible glass-fibre fabric containing thermo-expanding granular material, heat-insulating fillers and gradual water-release materials; and INTUMESCENT WRAP “GB-T”, nominal section 40x2 mm, in accordance with classification report I.G. 392776/4208FR. To protect the cable trays it is necessary to measure the dimensions and shape of the opening to be sealed, transfer them onto the panel and cut it, then apply a small
amount of FIRESTOP SEALANT “GB-MT” to the sides of the cut-out or directly onto the inner edge of the floor slab. Fit the cut-out and insert it into the opening with an “interference” fit, then skim the joints with a spatula using the FIRESTOP SEALANT “GB-MT”; the internal space of the cable tray may be filled either with a double GB-P PANEL or with GB-S PILLOWS positioned flush with the underside of the floor slab to a depth of 120 mm, sealing the edges with GB-MT sealant. To protect the corrugated conduits it is necessary to wrap the INTUMESCENT WRAP “GB-T” 3 turns around the conduit, inside the opening and flush with the underside of the floor slab. Any gaps between the services may be sealed with GB-MT sealant.
