protection of expansion joints with induced movement

“SEISMIC JOINT FIREGUARD 13” for the protection of horizontal joints in floor slabs with movement capability up to 100%, with fire resistance EI 120 H-M100-F-W0 to 400, consisting of a triple layer of boards th. 12,7 mm each, total thickness 38 mm and width 600 mm so as to have a lateral overlap onto the floor slab ≥ 100 mm. The boards will be laid with horizontally staggered joints and screwed to the existing floor slab, on one side only, with self-drilling screws, or screws with anchors, size 5x120 mm placed at 300 mm centres. On the free side, the boards will be screwed together only by means of dedicated screws, size 5x45 mm, placed at 600 mm centres. At the point of contact between the “SEISMIC JOINT FIREGUARD 13” and the moving part of the wall there is an intumescent gasket, size 30x1,5 mm, called “GB-T”, inserted in a dedicated housing formed by milling. To keep the system in contact with the floor slab, but free to move, metal “C” profiles, size 30x30x1,5 mm, must be used, fixed to the floor slab on one side and free to move on the other by means of a sliding trolley. The supporting profiles must be placed at 1000 mm centres. The joint allows an induced movement of 100%.
