- Characteristics
- High-build two-component solvent-based fire-retardant system used for the fire protection of steel structures, including those not protected by primer. It can also be applied on surfaces with slight oxidation, up to 2 weeks after sandblasting. The system involves the application of a single layer of F62 paintONE “A” + “B” for a dry protective thickness of up to approximately 6000 micron. Low-VOC-emission product: max 112 g/l. Fire resistance up to 120 minutes.

- Substrate preparation
- Before proceeding with application, check that the surface is clean, dry and free from grease. The paint is compatible with two-component epoxy primers applied at least 3 months earlier. Do not use on single-component primers. - On new surfaces with mill scale, prior blasting or mechanical brushing is not necessary. - On new surfaces already treated with an anticorrosive primer, remove any traces of oil/grease or foreign material present. - On surfaces not requiring anticorrosive protection, direct application is possible.
- Dilution
- Ready-to-use product. If necessary, it can be diluted up to 5% with F62 DILUENTE ONE thinner
- Application
- Mechanically mix the entire contents of catalyst container “B” with the entire contents of paint “A”. Catalyst “B” is highly sensitive to moisture and must remain hermetically sealed before use. Apply by spray, keeping a minimum distance of at least 600 mm. Ensure good ventilation during application. Use the mixture within a maximum of 2 hours (at 15 °C with 65% relative humidity). Protect the structure from strong winds and high temperatures during application. Apply by spray using 0.019” - 0.027” tips. The use of additional solvent mixed into the material helps achieve a superior decorative finish at the expense of the maximum quantity that can be applied.
- Consumption
- 1,75 kg/m2 for 1000 micron of dry thickness.
- Application temperature
- Apply at temperatures between + 5°C and + 35°C and Relative Humidity below 90%.
- Drying
- The drying time depends on the ambient temperature, the temperature of the steel to be protected, ventilation and air humidity. Touch dry 1 hour, fully dry minimum 2 hours.
- Finish
- If applied outdoors, F62 paintONE must be protected with a compatible finishing enamel. For information, contact the Technical Department.
- Maintenance
- Periodically check the integrity of the paint film. In the event of damage, clean back to the substrate and restore the protective system in the affected area.
- Packaging and storage
- 22,3 kg and 2,7 kg pails. The product is stable for 12 months if stored in its original containers at a temperature between 0°C and +35°C. Protect from frost. F62 paintONE is a two-component product consisting of part “A”, a white paint, and part “B”, a transparent black catalyst.
