PROTECTION OF SEISMIC ISOLATORS “FIREGUARD®13” BOARDS and SEALANT “GB-P”

Protection of seismic isolators for reinforced concrete columns with EI 120 fire resistance, made with “FIREGUARD” boards, thickness 3 x 12,7 mm, made of calcium silicates and sulphates, produced by lamination with factory-controlled drying, certified in reaction-to-fire Class A1 (non-combustible). The boards will be applied with phosphated self-drilling screws Ø 3,5 mm, of suitable length, at 250 mm centres, to “L”-shaped profiles, dimensions 50x50x0,6 mm, positioned as shown in the attached drawing to form the supporting frame. The upper angle profiles will be supported by adequately sized steel brackets placed at centres not exceeding

500 mm, in conformity with Istituto Giordano classification report 308030/3563FR - EI 120. An expansion joint “GB-P” with a thickness of up to 120 mm must be positioned in the specific housing. At the planned maintenance/inspection point it will be possible to position an inspection hatch made with FIREGUARD®13 boards, in conformity with classification report 331596/3771FR - EI 120 and Technical File 399954.
