protection of expansion joints

the EXPANSION JOINTS “GB-P” are insulating elements, resistant to high temperatures, for the protection of expansion joints, consisting of heat-resistant mineral fibres covered with an insulating coating. In the event of fire, the EXPANSION JOINTS “GB-P” are an excellent insulator capable of keeping the unexposed face at a temperature below the critical one. Structural and compartment elements do in fact require gaps capable of compensating for the natural expansion due both to temperature variations and to load variations. These openings compromise the fire resistance of the element containing them and, in particular, render a conceptually correct fire compartmentation useless.
