PENETRATION OF BUSBAR TRUNKING

Supply and installation of protection for penetrations of electrical distribution busbars of the “Blindosbarra” type with certified EI 120 fire resistance in floor slabs, made with sleeve “GB-ML”, consisting of a mineral wool felt 30 mm thick, density 80 kg/mc, and with “GB-P” semi-rigid mineral fibre panels (density 150 kg/mc) 60 mm thick, treated on both sides with a fire-protection coating, in accordance with classification report I.G. 392776/4208FR. It is necessary to measure the dimensions and shape of both the opening to be sealed and the penetrating busbar, transfer them onto the “GB-P” panels and cut the panels accordingly.

Apply a small amount of firestop sealant “GB-MT” to the sides of the cut-out or directly onto the inner edge of the floor slab, fit the panel sections and insert them into the opening with an “interference” fit, then skim the joints with a spatula using the firestop sealant “GB-MT”. After fitting the “GB-P” panels, measure the dimensions of the busbar to be protected and cut the quantity of sleeve “GB-ML” required to cover it. Wrap the sleeve “GB-ML” around the busbar on the top side of the floor slab to a height of 300 mm, butting the joint together and taking care that the sleeve adheres to the “GB-P” panels. Secure the sleeve “GB-ML” with twisted steel wire ties.
