- Characteristics
- Single-component intumescent fire-protection paint in water dispersion, based on synthetic resins, organic and inorganic intumescent fillers, inorganic pigments and additives. Borate-free, APEO-free. F62 PAINT is suitable for application on concrete and masonry structures and on plasterboard walls, trapezoidal steel deck floor slabs and high-massivity galvanised steel profiles.
- Colour
- Matt white.
- Substrate preparation
- The substrate to be protected must be suitably prepared in accordance with the instructions given in the Classification Reports. - On masonry or concrete surfaces, dust, foreign bodies and all loose material present must be removed. - On highly absorbent substrates, the application of the F62 PRIMER fixative is recommended. - On untreated ordinary plaster, apply directly without the use of a primer. - On substrates with old paintwork, check the soundness and consistency of the base before applying the intumescent treatment.
- Dilution
- Dilute with 0 - 5% water.
- Application
- Mix the contents of the container to obtain a homogeneous paste. F62 PAINT can be applied by roller, brush or spray. In the latter case use an Airless pump: - Tips from 15 to 23 (larger sizes may be used only for large surfaces) - Pressure 10 ÷ 20 MPa For Airless application, remove all filters from the pump and the gun. Store unused material in tightly closed containers. After use, clean tools with water; it is good practice to rinse tools periodically during the day.
- Coverage
- Max. consumption per single coat: 1,5 kg/m2 equal to 750 μm dft (for spray application). In the case of Airless application, allow for 20% waste.
- Application temperature
- Apply at temperatures between + 10°C and + 35°C. If the ambient temperature is below + 5°C, the room must be heated (convector heaters) to keep the temperature above 5°C during application and for the following 24 hours. Ensure adequate ventilation to keep the Relative Humidity below 75%. Do not apply F62 PRIMER in the presence of condensation.
- Drying
- Apply a first layer of F62 PRIMER using the various systems indicated. Apply the subsequent layers at intervals depending on the ambient temperature, until the required quantity is reached. - at 10°C overcoatable after 18 - 24 h - at 23°C overcoatable after 6 - 8 h - at 35°C overcoatable after 4 - 5 h
- Finish
- For aesthetic reasons, it can be overcoated with F62 FINISH, available in various colours, or with acrylic or chlorinated rubber paints. For applications in aggressive industrial environments, or in the presence of high ambient humidity, and to increase its surface resistance characteristics (impact - abrasion), overcoating with two-component polyurethane products is recommended. For information, contact the Technical Department.
- Maintenance
- Periodically check the integrity of the paint film. In the event of damage, clean back to the substrate and restore the protective system in the affected area.
- Packaging and storage
- 20 kg buckets. The product is stable for 1 year if stored in its original containers at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Protect from frost. Non-flammable product.
- Warnings
- F62 PAINT is classified as a Non-Hazardous Product according to Directive 67/548 EEC and subsequent amendments. It is advisable to follow the precautions required for the use of products such as water-based paints or wall plastics (work clothes, gloves, etc.). Do not breathe the mist produced by spraying.
