the FIREGUARD® 18 boards are made of calcium silicates and sulphates, asbestos-free, and are produced by lamination with factory-controlled drying. They guarantee high thermal insulation in the event of fire, making them suitable in all cases where passive fire protection is required. They are non-combustible (reaction to fire class A1). FIREGUARD® 18 boards guarantee mechanical strength and high resistance to humidity and weathering.
the FIREGUARD® 18 boards are fixed by means of mechanical fixings (screws or anchors). The instructions contained in the specific certifications must be observed, in relation to the types adopted. In cladding systems, FIREGUARD® 18 boards are usually certified without joint filling. If, for reasons of aesthetic finish, joint filling is required, the fixings must be positioned at 250 mm centres, along the edges of the board and along its centre line. FIREGUARD COMPOUND gypsum-based filler must be used, applied with mesh tape or glass fibre tape.
