the INTUMESCENT PIPE WRAP “GB-T” is an intumescent wrap for the internal sealing of penetrations of combustible pipes in PVC, PE, PP and multilayer composite, insulated and uninsulated, up to an external diameter of 160 mm; insulated copper and steel pipes up to a diameter of 219 mm. In the event of fire, in fact, combustible pipes and the insulation of non-combustible pipes burn and melt in a few minutes, leaving the opening free. The resulting hole represents a critical area capable of compromising the fire resistance of a fire-resistant partition. Thanks to the use of the INTUMESCENT PIPE WRAP “GB-T”, the opening is completely filled with insulating material within a few minutes, thanks to the effect of the intumescent material present, which prevents any passage of flame. The INTUMESCENT PIPE WRAP “GB-T” can be used where the insulation of metal pipes is not class A1 and its removal is not practicable due to condensation and dripping problems. The use of the INTUMESCENT PIPE WRAP “GB-T” makes it possible to guarantee EI 90/240 fire resistance while maintaining the integrity of the thermal insulation on non-combustible pipes.
